Today, I feel inspired. By what, exactly, I'm not sure. But that's not the point. Inspiration! I think it began at Dollar Tree, when I found one, solitary, glorious package of flameless tea lights at the checkout counter. Yep, that's where it began!
I only stopped in to buy light bulbs and trash bags for my office at work; that's all. And just like at most department stores, I found myself wandering down each aisle figuring that I'd find something useful or fun in a hidden bin somewhere. And Oh, did I find something... and it wasn't until I was ready to go with only lightbulbs and trash bags in hand, mind you!
Before I continue, let me remind y'all that our wedding will be outdoors, and the reception will be in a barn. Everywhere around us will be hay and burlap, and most likely the famous West Texas Wind. Highly flammable combinations, right?! OH yes.
So, the lady is scanning my items, one by one, and while she's doing that, I look around on the counter. Curiosity paid off, my friends! There it was. The package of flameless candles (2). I quietly gasped, and just knew I had hit the jackpot! I asked the lady if there were more, and she actually had a basket full next to her that I hadn't seen. I told her, "See, I'm getting married next year, and I need tons of these!" She said, "Oh! Wow! Ok..." So she counted them out, all 63 packages of them. Then the manager, Lori, came by and said, "I have more! Would you like them?" And of course I couldn't pass her up, so I wiped out the store without a blink of an eye! And additional 60 packages! I was so excited! Many thanks to the inventors of flameless candles and to my friends at Dollar Tree, hazards are diverted.
Also today, I learned that my Mom has made incredible progress on the burlap curtains, red threading and all! And, my mother in law has ordered all of the horseshoes! What a day! My inspiration led to designing invitations, save the date cards, and RSVP cards... the only thing is that I can't show Monte yet! He's still in no-man's land training. Ugh! But, he'll be home for Thanksgiving, and I can present all my findings then! And not only that, but we will be working on our... dum dum dum.... GUEST LIST!!!! We're ahead of the game folks, as guest list compilations aren't scheduled until 10 months out! Yay us!
May the inspiration continue... and may you all get a taste!
Cheers!
