Although this post isn't entirely geared toward wedding planning per se, it is about family! And what is more important than that? Recently, I kept making references to my soon-to-be status, and each time I was corrected and told that I was already part of the family. How wonderful is that? I know that everyone in my family that has met Monte so far absolutely loves him and are so happy! Even the ones that haven't met him can't wait to come out for the wedding!
Just six days ago, a new baby was born into the family! I'm blessed enough to be able to call him my nephew... and today, I made plans to go and visit him, his sister, mom, dad & Grammy! I'm looking forward to meeting him for the first time... and I'm a little afraid that I'm going to suffer from baby fever for a time afterwards! But I'm ok with that!
So, now on to the wedding planning portion... since the reception is going to be in a barn, my lovely mom is working on making burlap curtains for the barn door entrance! Awesome, right?!?! Along side the burlap, some other things you might see at our West Texas shindig are mason jars with candles in them, bundles of wheat with ribbons, bales of hay, pumpkins, horse shoes, cowboy boots, bluebonnets, sunflowers... you get the idea, right? And what's a country wedding without a dancefloor? I didn't know either, so you can bet that there will be plenty of space to scoot your boots!! And if you need a little break in between songs, I plan to have karaoke on site as well! Anyone who knows me, knows that a party just isn't a party without a little tambourine-inspired karaoke!
I hope you're getting as excited as we are! There are a few things I've got to nail down yet, like a rental dancefloor, a DJ, the layout of the barn, and a bunch of other small details. Well, maybe that's more than just a "few" things yet to nail down... ha! I'm trying really hard not to make this complicated; as simple as possible is our goal!
Stay tuned for more to come!
Cheers!
I love the blog Erin! I will be following you in this journey! Love you and can't wait to see you!
