Hi Y'all!!
Here we are, almost to the end of February! We’re just truckin’ along, trying to make it to spring, but also trying to make it to the day when Monte gets out of the Army! It just can’t get here quick enough! We are counting down the days to June 2, when I will fly to North Carolina for the final time, we’ll hop in the truck with the Uhaul hitched on the back, grab up Comrade (our new puppy dog) and head west together! Man, we are SO looking forward to that!
A few weeks ago, I decided to go on hiatus with wedding planning. It was just getting to be too much without Monte here! There were too many decisions that were becoming way to difficult to make over the phone. So, once he’s here & settled, we’ll kick it into high gear, and get things done. Get ready, Babes!!!
So, even though I put the hold on planning, I have found a few things that will be great for the wedding. It always works that way; when you’re not looking for it is when you find it! I was perusing Target one afternoon, and found that they were putting out all their spring items and that alone got me excited! I saw shelves full of solar lanterns that light pathways in yards and such. It immediately occurred to me that we didn’t have anything figured out for the aisle in the arena! Perfect!! I purchased 30 of them… I’m hoping that will be enough! J My storage closet is getting awfully full of wedding supplies… whew! In addition to that, I think we’ve decided we are going to use tiki lanterns for lighting elsewhere, and rope lights where we can with what we have. Simple & easy is good!
Just last weekend, Monte came to visit, and we ended up registering for wedding gifts. Originally, we weren’t really too concerned with this, but we realized that with logistics, having bridal showers really wasn’t a feasible option, given that we’re planning an out-of-state wedding. Not only that, but we thought perhaps our guests may want the opportunity to give, and we wanted them to have a place to start. So, we have registered at Target and at Bed Bath & Beyond. We were going to try to knock out Wal-Mart while we were at it, but we didn’t get it done. Time just goes way too fast! We still have to tweak the registries little online, but that’s the beauty of these stores; we can do that!! Yay! Not only can we adjust our registries online, but our guests can also make those selections online as well, and gain access to the registries in the store! We think it’s perfect for everyone! Nonetheless, don’t feel obliged to purchase anything… we’d just like for you to be there if you can!
Next month I have a very special trip planned with my Mom! We’re meeting up in Austin to go wedding dress shopping! It’s going to be so great, and I’m hoping to find the perfect dress that will complement my cowboy boots! If I could find it anywhere, it’d be in the heart of Texas ! It’s possible I could find a new pair of boots, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve already got the perfect ones that are broken in and dance-floor ready! There’s probably gobs and gobs of other fun things that my Mom & I will lay eyes on, and that’s just the beginning of a fun Mother/Daughter weekend!
There’s not much more to update y’all on… but come early summer, we’ll be busy!
Cheers!
E
